Yes, security is our top priority. Every plan is designed to safeguard your data. Your credentials are never stored in plaintext; they are always encrypted using the highest security standards, powered by Google Cloud Key Management Service.
Passwd uses end-to-end encryption to ensure your credentials remain completely secure. All data is encrypted with AES-256, one of the strongest encryption standards available, and is never stored in plaintext. Only your organization’s authorized users can decrypt records, and thanks to our architecture, Passwd itself has no access to any of your data, encrypted or not. All information is transmitted over secure TLS/SSL connections, and any attempts to connect via insecure protocols are automatically rejected. Once data reaches your servers, it is encrypted using AES-256 before storage, with encryption keys managed securely through Google Key Management Service (Google KMS). This comprehensive approach ensures that your credentials remain private, secure, and fully under your organization’s control at all times.
All data is stored securely on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure. In the Enterprise plan, customers can store their data in their own Google Cloud project, either way, Passwd’s team never has access to your vault.
Yes. Our Enterprise Plan is fully compliant with GDPR and SOC 2 requirements, as it operates on your private Google Cloud Platform. Learn more about how Google ensures compliance with GDPR and SOC2. For healthcare and regulated industries, Passwd supports HIPAA compliance under the Enterprise plan when deployed within your own Google Cloud Platform project, enabling you to manage encryption keys and data residency directly. Passwd Enterprise also aligns with CCPA, FERPA, and NIS2 requirements for organizations operating in Europe and North America.
We prioritize robust security measures across all plans, ensuring that your data remains safe and secure at all times.

Passwd is developed by Passwd s.r.o., a European company dedicated to building secure collaboration tools for Google Workspace. Our mission is to deliver enterprise-grade password management that’s effortless, privacy-first, and seamlessly integrated into Google’s ecosystem.
Originally created by the renowned software company Ackee as an internal solution for managing credentials securely when no suitable alternative existed. Passwd has since evolved into a standalone organization committed to making Google Workspace users’ lives simpler and more secure.
While we have no intention of going out of business, we understand the importance of data accessibility. That’s why every organization will have the ability to export their data, with ample notice provided in advance. Enterprise users maintain complete control over their self-hosted vault on Google Cloud. Our commitment to open data export ensures that all credentials remain fully accessible, even in the unlikely event that Passwd’s services are discontinued.
Passwd is continuously evolving, with new features and improvements added regularly. You can explore our public roadmap to see what’s coming next. We value transparency and truly appreciate feedback from our users, so don’t hesitate to reach out and share your thoughts.
